I promised myself that I would write a blog as often as possible this year, even if it’s only a few lines, because I want to say one encouraging word to someone who might need it.
So here’s my thought for today. Be encouraged! Don’t give up. Baby steps are better than no steps. You are not in this life alone. God is here and He will help you. He will strengthen you, and help you to make it.
I’ve learned that tomorrow really does have its own set of problems and its own built-in mercies. It’s a waste of my energy and time to worry. The only thing that I can do is do my best for this moment, for this day, and leave tomorrow’s problems for tomorrow.
God only gives me grace (His divine power that enables me to do what I could not do on my own) for today’s challenges, problems, and trials. That’s really all the grace I need. By the time that I finish doing what I must do today, complete what I must complete for today, and take the steps He has ordered for my day, the day will be over. Pastor Rick Warren said that we only have time to do what God has planned for our lives each day. I guess that he was saying that all the other things are extra worries, concerns, and burdens that we have needlessly added to our load. They will distract us and keep us from accomplishing our true purpose for that day. We don’t have time for extra. We must stay focused.
There is no need for me to try to handle future problems that are beyond my control today. I only have strength for the twenty-four hours that have been placed in my hands. However, if I trust God and listen carefully while He reveals to me today’s leg of the journey, the tasks that I complete today will actually line up my life for the next day. In fact, I will be headed in the correct direction to accomplish what needs to be done in the future, by the time that it should be done.
Baby steps.
Baby steps, headed in the right direction, will end up taking me where God wants me to go. I’ve got a few mountains in front of me that are in need of moving, and some barriers that need removing. I have some dreams that must be fulfilled, and some relationships that will be rebuilt. But this year, I refuse to become overwhelmed by the complexity of it all. Instead, I will do what I can do and leave everything in God’s hands. He said that I will never regret that I have placed my trust in Him.
You can take baby steps too. Allow God to lead you and trust that He will complete whatever needs to be done in your life. Believe that He will fill the gap between where you are now and where you need to be. If you don’t give up, all your baby steps will all add up to big steps. And those steps will open the doors you need to expand your horizon and reach the dreams and goals God has placed within you. Enjoy the journey!
Until next time, take care.
Love,
T’Alice
Scriptures to consider:
Matthew 6:25-34
[ Do Not Worry ] “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more important than food, and the body more important than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life ? …
Exodus 33:19 Psalm 25:6 Psalm 119:132
Matthew 5:7 Romans 9:15 Jude 1:2
Psalm 37:23 Proverbs 4:11-13
Questions to consider: What are the plans that God has placed in your heart? What are the challenges that God will meet in order to bring His plans to pass?
