Have you ever had a ‘light bulb moment’ when something you had read many times finally clicked? I had one of those moments last year. For me, it was definitely an ‘ah hah!’ moment when the Holy Spirit revealed to me more about the meaning of the scripture, “God is love.”
One day, as I was studying God’s Word, the meaning of the scripture just ‘clicked.’ I finally got it. God is love. Love is not an action or a choice or an emotion. Love is more than a topic to be sung about and a message to be written about in poems and stories. Love is God. And since God has always existed, Love has always existed. Since God will always exist, Love will always exist.
God taught me that true love is a Spirit being, like you and I are Human beings. (God is a Spirit, and those who worship Him, must worship Him in spirit and in truth – John 4:24.) This Eternal being, who is love in its purest form, we call God. It is God’s nature, a part of his make up, to demonstrate love and to protect all that is holy and good. He does see what’s going on in my world. Knowing all things, He moves at the correct time (not necessarily on my time schedule). His character pulls back the darkness and reveals truth, inserting power, justice, peace, joy, self-control, faithfulness, patience, kindness, life, and light into my life. Almighty God is making my life better… step by step … day by day.
I am hoping that as you spend time in God’s presence all through each day, you will slowly see His character flooding your life with His love. May He transform your days until you see positive changes taking place wherever you look!
Until next time, I hope that you enjoy the journey!
