True Love (God is Love Part 2)

It’s true, it’s true! I still shake my head in amazement that Love really is the greatest power in existence. I don’t even want to imagine a world that had no love in it. Fortunately, I don’t have to ever worry about that. Why? Remember, God is love and He is omnipotent. This means that love is all-powerful. Since He is omniscient (all-knowing), He will always produce wisdom, providing the best answer to any problem.

Remember that God does not change (is immutable). I have found Him to be a rock, a sure, strong tower in whom I can depend when situations and people in my life are unstable. And given that God is omnipresent, there is no place I can go where He, Love, is not present. My dad loves to say that God is the only one who can go with you where you are going and be there to greet you when you get there.

More than that, He is the beginning and the ending. Therefore Love is not limited by space or time. In fact, Psalm 100:5 says, “For the Lord is good and his love endures forever.”

It was Love who by speaking, “Let there be…” created the universe. And then Love spoke again and created the earth with all of its complexities and beauty, in order to prepare a place for you and me. God, the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit created Adam, the first man, in the image of Love; excellent, intelligent and powerful, and breathed into him Life. It’s this excellence, intelligence, power, and life that He pours into you. And He pours it into me.

Think about it… all it took was one breath breathed from God into Adam to establish all of humanity including you. To think that Love created me because He (God) wanted to have a relationship with me, to surround me with His goodness, and to fill me with His excellence, well,  that’s awesome in my book!

He wants the same thing for you.  May all that God is, fill your life too! I really hope that you enjoy the journey!

With all my heart,

Today’s question – How does it make you feel to know that God loves you this much?

If you want to read more scriptures about his love for you see:

Psalm 52:8 – But I am like an olive tree flourishing in the house of God; I trust in God’s unfailing love for ever and ever.

Romans 5:5 And hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us.

1 Corinthians 13:1-8

If I speak in the tongues of men or of angels, but do not have love, I am only a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal. If I have the gift of prophecy and can fathom all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have a faith that can move mountains, but do not have love, I am nothing. If I give all I possess to the poor and give over my body to hardship that I may boast, but do not have love, I gain nothing. …

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Love never fails.

It won’t fail you on your way. Enjoy the journey!

About Administrator

I'm more than half of a century old! That sounds 'cooler' than saying I'm in my fifties! LOL My husband and I have been married for thirty plus years and have a son, daughter, son-in-law, and grandson. I'm surrounded by a loving Christian family: mom, dad, sister, brother and their families. I love to garden, draw, paint, read, sing, compose, and work with young people. On the other hand, I also love to spend time around the 'young at heart.' I love to have fun and to laugh. I try to make the most of each day and enjoy it in God's presence. I love performing random acts of kindness to brighten someone's day! I'm learning how to be at peace with the unique person I am and to appreciate the way that God has made me. Hey! It's all a part of the journey!
